Adsense Secrets 4.0

I don't know why, but for the last few years I've resisted purchasing the book Adsense Secrets by Joel Comm, even though I'd signed up to the Google Adsense program (as you can see by reading this page). For some reason, it just seemed, well, too good to be true, so I hesitated.

Finally, just recently, I did decide to purchase the book online because the price was drastically reduced, and I figured that I could certainly use some help in figuring out why I wasn't generating as much Adsense income as I thought I should. I have to say that, at this point, I really wish I had bought the book a couple of years ago, even though the price was much higher then.

First, let's talk about all the plusses, and why I wish I had purchased it. Comm has definitely done his work, that's for sure. As I write this, I'm talking about version 4 of the book, and at around 230 pages you know that he's added a lot of new information, some of which I hadn't even known had changed. For instance, Google products used to only contain, well, actual Google products, such as search, tools, Picaso, Adsense and Adwords, and Google Toolbar for Firefox. Now it contains a plethora of products of all types that one can market, advertisers through Google, that can help you target the market and make more money for not only clicks, but for those people who actually sign up or purchase from those particular advertisers. I might have eventually learned about it, but one never knows.

Second, there's a lot of time spent talking about usage of colors, placement of ads, and sizes of ads, and he's got the statistics to back it all up. There was a lot of information there of things I'd never thought about before that I was able to put into practice on all of my sites that I use Adsense for.

And how have I done? Well, I've only had it for just over a week, and I've already noticed at least a 50% increase in the amount I was getting before with Adsense. Since my numbers were low, it was much easier to notice. Not only that, but now I have a better understanding of what some of the other numbers that Google provides to you means, so I have a better chance of knowing where and how to make modifications to my websites than I did in the past.

Now, why hadn't I purchased the book before? Because at this time the cost of the book is $9.95, whereas in the past it was selling for $97; quite a difference, isn't it? Not that it might not have been valuable, but it's sometimes hard for many of us to quantify how something like that might help us out, especially when we've already tried something else that was somewhat expensive and didn't get anything out of it. I can easily say that if I'd had this book three years ago, I'd have probably changed the business model of at least one of my other sites and I'd probably be making better money already.

Now, Comm has many products, and I have purchased something else from him in the past, so I can recommend his products for what they are easily enough. But there is always this thing one needs to watch out for, which I'm going to reveal now.

There is something known as "forced community", and in essence this means that you purchase something, but you're automatically signed up for something else, and if you don't cancel within a certain time period you'll start getting billed monthly for that particular service until which time you discover it and cancel it. Not that you won't be getting something, but sometimes you're getting it and believing that it's a free service. That happened to me with a different product of his that I purchased, and I didn't discover it until 3 months later. This isn't exclusive to him, nor to affiliate marketing in general, as there have been other things I've bought online, or even signed up for free through regular mail, where the same sort of thing has occurred. That's called 'read the whole thing, stupid'.

However, with the new book, Comm took a major public relations hit by having that initially, and he changed things up so that when you buy the book, you can indicate that you don't want this free report, the item which leads to your being charged later on, and therefore you can just buy the book and be on your way to making money through Adsense. And, because of that, I can fully recommend that you purchase Adsense Secrets 4.0 if you have a website and want to try to make money with Google's Adsense program. Trust me, it's nice having someone else who's already done the extensive work for you.
