Sports Sites

If you like sports, and you want to find information online, there are 3 sites that will give you premium sports information, though two of them offer extras that, depending on your sensibilities, you'll either love or hate.

Of course, in this day and age, you can't start anything without talking about ESPN Sports, and their site is supreme. Nothing but sports on the site, and when you first go to the page, their one minute, up to the minute, sports ticker starts playing on the side while you take your time looking through all the stories they have. ESPN has always been more like a news station that only talks about sports instead of world or local events, and that's what you get here, along with columns and editorials. I like how they also break out the different sports with a couple of headline stories under each. You even get links and listings of ESPN Radio shows, which I've always enjoyed listening to (love Colin Cowherd). And ESPN will cover sports that other sports outlets won't cover, which is good and bad. I love poker, but don't like the Ultimate Fighting Championships. I'd say you can't have everything, but with ESPN, if it's sports related, you can.

CBS Sportsline is another quality sports page that also offers a video that you can activate if you're so inclined that will give you a quick update on what's going on presently in the world of sports. If offers fewer headlines and stories on its main page, but you can always click on "more" for more. They have links all over the place to take you to many sports headlines and stories. They also have links to CBS news and television programming stories. One thing they have that's definitely not sports related is a relationship with Maxim Magazine, where you can not only go see a few pretty girls, but Maxim offers some of its own sports editorials, which you can read from this page.

Fox Sports is the final sports site to talk about, and it's layout is a lot like CBS'. It also has video that you can decide to play if you wish to, with fewer links initially going to sports stories, but, because Fox is more about entertainment than news, it has features listed on its main page that the other two won't have. As I'm writing this, one of its features is Jessica Alba's take on sports; then again, who doesn't love Jessica Alba? The Fox site also has fantasy sports that you can sign up for and read news on, which makes this site potentially more interactive than the other sites.

And there you go; not a single loser out of this group of sites.
